OB Appointment and 12 weeks

Friday, February 17, 2012

We got to hear our baby's heartbeat again! Sadly though Daron and I were both under the impression we were scheduled for an ultrasound this week, we weren't. However, we did request one since when I left the fertility clinic they were wanting me to have another one around week 10 or 11 to make sure there were no residual issues with my ovaries and that everything was measuring well. The OB seemed to think this was a bit crazy, but honestly while I understand I'm having a very normal pregnancy, I would rather go with what the clinic wanted since I trust them and hey they got me pregnant. I would also like to see that my ovaries are no longer hugely swollen, I feel as if they are better, and have even started a more normal yoga routine. However there are still things I would feel more comfortable doing after having a visual of my more normal sized ovaries. Plus it would be really nice to see the baby again and since we aren't doing an NT scan I don't think we would be getting another ultrasound until at least around week 18. Hearing a heartbeat is great but Daron and I both really want to see how much this baby has grown since our last ultrasound at 7w3d. Anyway, the OB agreed to schedule us for an ultrasound and we will be seeing my ovaries and our baby next Thursday. They also took 4 vials of blood from me at this appointment, not sure what all they are testing but apparently there are things they wanted to test that the clinic didn't test.

In other news, I got the go ahead to get a massage! I'm pretty excited about that one, as I've missed my monthly massages. Daron and I found the stencils we are going to use for the baby's room on Amazon, They are really cute and should be the perfect size for the border we want to do. I think I can also use them on the dresser I am going to paint for the baby's room.

Some of my shirts officially don't fit anymore. The last couple of days I have really noticed more rounding of my belly, and some t-shirts and such that fit fine before are now either extremely tight around my belly or pull up to show the bottom, so it looks like I may be doing round 1 of packing clothes away this weekend or next. I'm definitely still loving the maternity pants, plus there is no way my normal pants would fit me now even with a bella band and hair tie.

I'm really having a hard time believing that I'm 12 weeks along already, I'm just praying this pregnancy continues to go as smoothly as it has so far. Biggest milestone for week 12, I get to finish these crappy endometrin inserts! Monday or Tuesday will be my last day and oh how glad I will be to see them gone! Oh and belly pics are still coming soon!

11 weeks

Saturday, February 11, 2012

I fully realize it has been quite a long time since I updated on here. Mostly its because I really haven't had anything new to report.

Overall, I'm feeling pretty good, as long as I make sure to choose at least semi-healthy food to eat and make sure I eat on a regular basis I feel great and don't even have a little bit of queasiness. I have been dealing with heartburn more often than before pregnancy but that one doesn't really bother me too much. Starting somewhere just before week 10, I started getting a really bad taste in my mouth, anytime I eat or drink anything. That has really been my most annoying symptom, so I will take it. I have been fighting it with an extra brushing or 2 during the day as well as citrus fruits, peppermints, and other hard candy. I haven't been needing an afternoon nap lately but that is probably more due to the fact that I have been sleeping a little later in the mornings, since I pretty much make my own hours at work right now.

My belly hasn't really gotten too much bigger, but it has shifted so I think I now have less bloat from swollen ovaries and more baby bloat/belly. I also lost a pound or 2 in the last couple weeks which also makes me think my ovaries might now be a somewhat more normal size. I am still up 1-2lbs from what I was when I started this IVF cycle so hopefully that is our baby and my uterus doing what they are supposed to and growing! I have been taking pictures since week 7 or 8 but while you can notice my belly shifting and changing a bit I haven't thought it dramatic enough to post yet, maybe after this week's photo I will post them. I did finally buy 2 pairs of maternity jeans, and am so glad I did, my belly had shifted enough that as well as using my bella band I was having to use a rubber band on my button in order to keep my normal pants from coming unzipped. So needless to say the maternity pants are amazingly comfortable. Now I just need to take the time to hem them since I'm so short and their so long.

In other news I found out at the beginning of this month that I am still employed through the end of the month! I can apply for unemployment on March 1st and hopefully find a few things on the side to earn a little money to supplement those unemployment checks. It will be around the time to be starting my seeds and start thinking about my garden then so I'm sure I will have plenty to keep me busy.

We picked out our color for the Baby room and have the first couple of coats on it, though it still needs another due to the crappy walls. I will be stenciling the walls, and we still need to replace a window, install new carpeting and paint the ceiling so we figured the way our projects usually go we had better start early. I also have a dresser to paint that will be going in there, though I haven't decided how to paint that yet.

We do have an OB appointment on Wednesday so I'm sure I will be doing another update sometime around then. We get another ultrasound so hopefully I will have more pictures to post! We can't wait to see how much our baby has grown and should be able to see our baby moving around now! They will also be doing a bunch of bloodwork and such to check some things with me that the Fertility clinic didn't check. Hopefully I have lots of good news!

Ultrasound Update

Thursday, January 19, 2012

We had our 2nd ultrasound on Monday and everything is looking good! We were able to hear a heartbeat at 157 beats per minute. We could also see arm and leg buds and the beginning of the spine. The Dr. said everything looked good and released us from the care of the clinic to the care of a regular OB. He also released us for sex since we heard a heartbeat.

On Tuesday we then went and had our 1st OB appointment which went really well, and so far we really like the OB we are seeing. It was basically just a meet and greet since we had just had an ultrasound the day before. Our next ultrasound is scheduled for February 15th. We will get an ultrasound and I will have some labs done. I will be 11 weeks and 4 days at that point so I'm sure it will be amazing to see how much our baby has grown!

And now what I am sure everyone really wants to see pictures!

Ultrasound

Monday, January 9, 2012

We had our first ultrasound and saw 1 beautiful little baby! I am actually starting to believe now that I'm really pregnant. We could see its little heart beating away and yes I will admit seeing that little heartbeat brought tears to my eyes. The baby is measuring at 6weeks 1day which is 2 days behind but nothing to worry about at this stage. I have another ultrasound next Monday. I have really been feeling fine up until yesterday when I was queasy for most of the day, but hey I'll take it! The clinic normally keeps patients through week 11 however since they are out of network for our insurance they will release me next week as long as I can get an appointment scheduled for the last week in January with an OB and everything is looking good. If I can't get an appointment until the first week in February they see me one more time after next week. Anyway, for the first time I am actually going to post pictures on here, and hey being that I will be unemployed after this week, maybe I'll actually get around to posting some of those other photos I've been talking about as well!

Thats Life

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

I have really been trying to trust where life is taking me lately, and so far it has turned out pretty good. I mean this cycle worked and I'm really pregnant. My 3rd Beta came back at 681 and my 4th at 1730. Daron and I are starting to get really excited. Our first ultrasound is next Monday, January 9th, we are both excited to get a look at this baby or babies and find out how many we have! We are also looking forward to the possibility of hearing a heartbeat when we go.

My Reiki healer told me I needed to practice being a magnet because I have think about the things I want and think good thoughts to things will be drawn to me and good things will come my way. In an odd sort of way I think its working. I definitely have to say that life works in mysterious ways. Since shortly after I started my job, working as a computer programmer for a small company that creates real estate tax software, I have hated it. I mean I love it because its flexible and close to home, and I really couldn't find an easier company to work for. I hate it though, I hate it because I don't like sitting at a computer all day, I don't like programming as a full time job. I planned on officially going part time once the baby/babies were born. It looks like that won't be an issue now because Jan. 14th is my last day due to the company running out of money and deciding to sell everything off instead of trying to keep it running.

I am actually looking at this as a good thing, like a kick in the butt saying "This isn't what you are supposed to be doing!" Now I just have to continue trusting that life will help point me in the right direction. There are so many things I have thought about doing, and I just know that something will fall into place. In the time being, I'm a little scared, I mean here we are just having spent thousands of dollars to get pregnant and now I'm completely out of a job, in debt and possibly pregnant with multiples. While I am thankful for everything that has happened and trying to trust that things are going to turn out OK, life really could have spread things out a little, it didn't have to change everything at once.

So I guess New Year, New Life, in more ways than one. Thats Life!

Christmas Miracle

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Well since I know all of you have been waiting patiently for news I will finally get around to updating this.

I am officially pregnant! My first beta which they like to see at 50 or above came in at 114 and my 2nd beta where they wanted to see it at least doubled came in at 310. I have two more beta draws this week to make sure everything is still looking good. It is still seeming a bit unreal to both Daron and I at this point. I can't wait to get our 1st ultrasound scheduled and see how many babies there are. The most likely scenario is that there is just one, but I keep getting this feeling that is a possibility of 2. We are fairly certain that there aren't 3.

I got my first real BFP(big fat positive) this cycle at 7 days past my 3 day transfer and 2 days later got a BFP on a digital HPT. Our first Beta was the Friday before Christmas and we were so happy to get a good strong number. I really can say this is the best Christmas present ever!
